The original text for this book was published over several months in 1908-9, in long columns of almost unbroken text in the Castlemaine 'Mail'. This new edition has reworked the typographic style, has added sub-headings, paragraph breaks and more than 100 photographs, graphics and artworks from the period which have sought to enhance the work and to make it more accessible to the contemporary reader.
